Small Business: Singapore SMEs top in Southeast Asia, but lag behind China

A survey conducted by UPS Asia Business Monitor, reveals that although Singapore's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are rated top among their peers in Southeast Asia on competitiveness, they still lag behind SMEs in China, Japan and South Korea.

The survey of 1,200 SME leaders in Asia also found that the long-term sustainability of Singapore's SMEs is threatened by a lack of entrepreneurship and innovation.

It is no surprise that China's SMEs were the most competitive in Asia for the second year running.
