Aviation: Swaziland deregisters illegal flights

Swaziland's Minister of Public Works and Transport, Elijah Shongwe, has announced the deregistration of 10 illegal flights. The minister made the announcement at the opening of the SADC Civil Aviation Committee meeting in Manzini.

He said the action was in line with international standards and recommended practice. The action is meant to persuade the EU which in March banned 15 of Swaziland's airliners.

AND network quotes the minister as saying, "We are committed to the compliance with the standards and recommended practice of the ICAO and the ministry will do all it can to call the ban on our airlines to be lifted".
