Iran and Afghanistan are to forge closer bilateral ties. The announcement was made by Iranian television following Afghan President Hamid Karzai's visit to Tehran.Agreements include the reconstruction of Afghanistan, investment in the country and cultural and scientific cooperation. Iran's public and private sectors are already involved in the reconstruction of transportation and communications infrastructure in Afghanistan.
