Crime: Suffer little children - but not the criminal.

Robin Angus Fletcher, 50, is due to be released from prison on June 12.

David Grace, QC, for the Department of Justice, told Justice Bill Gillard in the Victorian Supreme Court, it was alleged it was highly probable Fletcher would commit at least one of 41 nominated offences against children if released without supervision.

The crimes included rape and sexual penetration of a child, indecent assault, loitering near a school and offences related to child pornography.

Why was he jailed?
* he pleaded guilty to two counts of committing an indecent act with one girl

* one count each of committing an indecent act with and sexually penetrating another girl

* a further count of entering an agreement in which she would provide sex for payment

* pleaded guilty with a co-accused to attempting to pervert the course of justice

In addition the Sydney Morning Herald reports he, "showed her pornography and supplied her with drugs. He had also hit her with a belt, riding crop and paddle while she was naked except for a dog collar, wrist and ankle restraints.

According to the prosecution, Fletcher hit the other girl while she wore a collar and restraints, and had sex with her. He advertised over the internet her services as a schoolgirl prostitute, offering sadomasochistic practices".

Why did he commit these offences?
He claimed he is a witch and told one of the girls that she was a "chosen one" according to a Celtic prophesy and would be destroyed by gods if she did not obey his demands.

When was he sentenced?
1998. He will have served eight years of a ten year sentence.

Suffer little children - but not the criminal.
