South Korea is to submit an application next week to hold the World Expo 2012 in the southern port city of Yeosu.Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Kim Sung-jin said, "The application will be presented to the Paris-based International Exhibitions Bureau next Monday through a government envoy in Paris."
The government has been pushing to hold the three-month expo on maritime resources and topics related to the ocean from May 12 in 2012 in Yeosu.
