Foreign Investment: Taiwanese ready to invest heavily in Bangladesh

The Deputy Director General of Taiwan's Bureau of Foreign Trade, has said Taiwanese companies are ready to invest billions of dollars in Bangladesh, to combat EU anti-dumping duties and rising wages in China and Vietnam.

James Wu, said that In the past two years, about 250 Taiwanese investors had visited Bangladesh to assess opportunities.

"Footwear, bicycle and textile entrepreneurs in particular are very much keen to invest in Bangladesh following the European Union's anti-dumping duties on China and Vietnam. They have billions of dollars to invest," he was reported as saying.
