Goodnight from Sydney

Tonight's photo: Pyrmont Bridge.

One of the interesting things about this historic bridge is that the middle bit swings open to allow tall vessels to pass through.

I liked today. It was the sort of day that makes you say to yourself, "The week can't get much worse. From here, things can only get better".

I could cope with getting up at 5:30am to make sure my 73 year old mother made her 8am dental appointment on time. I could even handle the fact that just as we were about to leave, I caught a glimpse of her appointment card. Despite the fact that for the last four weeks she had told me her appointment was May 1st, the card clearly said "May 4th". At least it was a good practice run for the correct bloody date!

Not to worry, I told myself. I can have a nice early start to work. I should have known it wouldn't be that easy.

My Interconnect decided to go on and off like a new brides knickers. As the majority of my work is conducted online, it's not the way I want to start Monday morning. Once that head sorted itself out, my main news provider started feeding me news that was 2 to 3 days old. I have alternatives but they are more specialised and do not offer such a wide variety of news.

Later in the day I decided to see if there were any responses to my story Paying The Ferryman, which was my contribution as guest writer on Jin's blog, The Devil's Advocate.

Lo and behold, there was a comment -

"Boring. Your pathetic writing killed the Originality of the blog. What a shame.Yawn."

Just to prove the critics courage matched their intelligence, the post was "anonymous".

Normally I finish the last post with the day's candidate for the, "That's a bloody good title" competition selected from the day's surfing. Today I have not been able to surf at all!

Wherever you may be - be safe.
