Tonight's photo; "Dontcha Just Love Autumn" taken this morning.Australia's Prime Minister has been visiting the U.S. the last few days, during which time he was treated to some folksy hospitality by George W. Bush.
During a state banquet, Bush described the leader of one of America's staunchest allies as bald and no oil painting.
Quote: "Somebody said, 'gosh, you and John Howard appear to be so close, don't you have any differences?', and I said, yeah, he doesn't have any hair."
Quote: "He may not be the prettiest person on the block, but when he tells you something you can take it to the bank. He is a reliable partner."
Maybe he thinks that making jokes about the appearance of a man, who when America called, immediately offered the services and potentially lives, of our service men and women, is folksy and home-spun, down-on-the farm humour.
Here we have a different phrase.
We call it bad manners.
