Stephen Losey in the Federal Times, reports that Gregg Prillaman, Homeland Security Department's chief human capital officer has announced his resignation and will step down June 9, according to Joanna Gonzalez, an agency spokesperson.
She did not say why he is resigning, but said the departure of Prillaman or any department manager is not surprising. Homeland Security is still a "difficult place to work" because it is so new and still in flux, Gonzalez said.
An anonymous department official said internal friction made the job difficult for Prillaman. The article quotes the official as saying, "He had tremendous differences of opinion with former undersecretary for management Janet Hale."
