International Development: Ghana hopes Japan will provide more poverty aid

Ghana Home Page, reports that Ghana is hoping that Japan will announce poverty aid to the country. Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro, will arrive on Saturday, and deputy Foreign Minister Osei Adjei told reporters, "We are hoping he will use his visit to announce more Japanese aid to Ghana".

Japan provided more than 10 billion dollars for Africa through Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) between 1993 and 2005, which would now be doubled to 20 billion dollars by 2008.
