Minerals: Russian and Kazakhstan seek joint uranium ventures

According to Russia's state-owned Techsnabexport, Russia and Kazakhstan could form a number of uranium-related joint ventures as early as this year.

A spokesperson for the company told Interfax, a bilateral Russian-Kazakh working party on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy has drafted a report and plan of action to integrate the nuclear complexes of both countries which could lead to the creation of uranium mining and processing joint ventures in 2006.
