Renewable Energy: Texas to build wind farm near critical migratory bird flyway

The largest offshore wind farm in the U.S. is to be built off the Padre Island seashore, a critical migratory bird flyway.Superior Renewable Energy Inc., based in Houston, is to build the farm and pay $1 billion to $2 billion in construction costs.

Environmentalists say it will cause the deaths of the countless birds that migrate through the area each year on their way to and from winter grounds in Mexico and Central America.
