Goodnight from Sydney

Tonight's photo: Taken at around 5:30pm today

New South Wales very own Olympic Bandwagon Jumping champion, Premier Morris Iemma, is at it again.

Back in 1983 when Australia smashed the arrogant arseholes of the New York yacht club, to win the Americas Cup, then Prime Minister Bob Hawke, said that any boss who sacked anyone for not turning up for work, was "a bum".

Yesterday, which by the way was another public holiday, Iemma said that bosses should go easy on workers who turn up late for work, after staying up to watch Australia play in the World Cup.

I know this is very naive, but I was always under the impression that employers were paid to work and had certain responsibilities to those who pay their wages.

Oh silly me, I keep forgetting this is Australia - a vast holiday camp for workers where watching a soccer match is more important than responsibilities to employers.

And yet people wonder why I never employ anyone in this country.

Wherever you may be - be safe
