Human Resources: British business - damned if they do, damned if they don't

British business owners have been warned that trying to avoid falling foul of upcoming age discrimination laws by employing older staff, they could end up getting sued by younger job applicants.

The warning follows research by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), which showed that 70% of UK employers are actively seeking to recruit the over 55s. New regulations that come into effect in October, means that actively targeting older or younger employees may not be legal.

I find it much easier to actively target people who will get results - regardless of wether they are 16 or 90.
