Industrial Relations: Norwegian oil service union to strike

The Norwegian Oil and Petrochemical Workers Union, has said it would begin an oil service worker strike Wednesday after wage talks with the Norwegian Oil Industry Association collapsed earlier in the morning, union and industry officials said.

NOPEF spokesman Arild Thiemann told Dow Jones Newswires his union would take out 87 workers on 22 installations across the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including on a rig drilling Statoil ASA's (STO) 200 billion cubic meter Snoehvit project, which has already been hit by several cost overruns and delays.
