Tourism: UN appoints Jackie Chan ambassador of tourism

The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has named Jackie Chan the first ambassador of tourism in the Asia-Pacific region, the organization said in a statement yesterday.

The statement said Chan had told the UN tourism agency that he would be very honoured to take the post, and that he would do as much as he could to promote healthy and sustainable tourism and help less lucky people enjoy travel.

I am so glad to see the United Nations tackle such vital issues. No doubt Instant Coffee Annan, will call upon the world to travel. He likes to make speeches calling for action. He just doesn't like doing anything himself.
