Goodnight from Sydney

Tonight's photo: The two of us.

I like this photo because it is so "calm" and "calm" is not the word to describe my day. However, I did have a lovely dream last night.

Mel, (my fiancee) and I were in Rome, which is a surprise as I don't particularly like Rome. Why Rome, I have no idea. The closest I have come to anything connected with Rome recently was watching the Tour De France. The way my mind works these days, that would be close enough to have some sort of logical connection.

Not only were we in Rome - we were going to be married there. On Feb 18 to be exact.

My first real life visit to Rome in 1977 was not all that successful. Not only was it the only place that made me feel uneasy, (hell, I even went all through New York in those days without feeling uneasy) but they had very inconsiderate strippers!

At that time I was working for Thomas Cook, and I went over to Rome for a few days. On my first night I visited a strip club and sat somewhere down the back. Within five minutes a stripper pranced up to me, removed my spectacles and stuffed them down the front of her knickers. That was the last I saw of them until after the show - even then I wasn't sure I wanted them back.

I sat through the rest of the performance not being able to see a bloody thing!

Wherever you may be - be safe!
