Women's Issues: Iranian TV ignores women's issues

Iranian actress (or should I be PC and say 'actor') Ziba Boroofeh, has said that television serials produced in recent years have paid less attention to the issues and problems facing women in the society today.

www.iranian.ws/ quotes her as recalling that in the past women were portrayed as serving their families and children, while no key role was given to them.

"However, in some television serials which were made in recent years, women were indeed given pivotal or main character but this was limited to showing them playing a passive role in the serial rather than doing anything concrete of substantial," she noted.
