Energy: Indonesia seeks investors to develop plantations for biofuel

Indonesia's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Dr Purnomo Yusgiantoro, has said Indonesia will offer 6 million hectares of land to local and foreign investors to develop plantations for biofuel - a total investment of approximately US$20 billion.

Following the Kuala Lumpur Business Club Roundtable Session, he told reporters, "Indonesia is learning. Our heavy subsidy has pushed us to use oil products intensively. We realise this is not right and we are going to substitute them with alternative energy like biofuel."
