The Mindanao Daily Mirror, (Davao city, Philippines) reports that a women's association has forged an agreement with a non-government organization (NGO) and town officials to introduce marinated flying fish into a wider market.
The deal involves up-grading of an existing fish processing facility provided by the provincial government for the Old Poblacion Fish Processing Womens' Association.
When fully operational, the facility could produce six to eight tons of half-dried, marinated flying fish (bangsi) per month.
