Think of this as, "i On Global Trends - The Weekend Edition."Manchester United has confirmed it is interested in signing Calgary-raised midfielder Owen Hargreaves. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said Friday he's been negotiating with German champion Bayern Munich to sign Hargreaves. However, Bayern denied discussing Hargreaves with Manchester United.
Hargreaves was born in Calgary but is eligible to play for England because his father was born there. Hargreaves left Alberta at 16 to join Bayern.
