Goodnight from Sydney

Tonight's photo: A pleasant if cloudy, Saturday morning. The band is a brilliant young band called "Super Florence Jam" For me to stop and listen to them on a busy Saturday morning, they must be good.

The story that has caught the imagination of so many people in New South Wales today, involves a seventeen year old schoolboy.

After "lagging behind" on finding a date for his school's Year 12 formal, the enterprising young man wrote to former Miss Universe - Australia's own Jennifer Hawkins.

And yes - she accepted.

The Daily Telegraph quotes him as saying, "I like to think outside the square and I thought Ms Hawkins was a prominent figure, especially to the men, that she'd be a good formal partner."

He even went to the extent of booking accommodation for her in the area's only five star hotel.

Jennifer - whose personality is even lovelier than her looks, said, "When I saw the letter from Daniel, I thought 'that's cute', he went to that effort and he was nice and I've never been to Bathurst."

Her boyfriend knows and finds the whole thing quite amusing apparently!

Television reports suggest not everyone approves. Some of the local schoolgirls think the lads may look more at Jennifer than at them!

Donald Trump stated that Jennifer Hawkins "is the most beautiful Miss Universe" he had ever seen.

By heck it's nice to post a charming little story like this instead of death and catastrophe.

Wherever you may be - be safe!
