Goodnight from Sydney

Tonight's photo: Oh heck, why not just call it - "Flowers"

Up until Nov 15 2004, I had two dense cataracts. Having had the left one removed it wasn't until June 2005, that the removal of the remaining cataract meant my vision was cloud free.

It is now August 2006 and the novelty of being able to see clearly still hasn't worn off. I am constantly amazed by what I can see. Add to that the fact that I carry a battered and taped up camera everywhere I go, I find I am now seeing more of the world than at any time in my life.

Take these flowers for example. Each season I would pass these flowers without noticing the intricacies of the formation, colours or patterns. I now know there is a lot more to them than previously met the eye.

Perhaps that is what some of our illustrious world leaders (and I use the term loosely) need. A battered camera and a new set of eyes.

Oh hang on - better not use my camera - it's a Canon. Lord knows they use enough of those already.

Wherever you may be - be safe!
