Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Amr Moussa, has held talks with China's special envoy on the Middle East, Sun Bigan on the Lebanon crisis and UN Security Council resolution on Lebanon.Moussa said that despite its "unbalance," Resolution 1701 "contained those major points which were generally concerned among Arab nations." He added that Arab nations would help to implement the resolution based on consultation.
Xinhua reports the AL chief expressed his appreciation to Sun because China has, "shown high respect to Arab concerns during the discussions and debate on the resolution at the UN Security Council."
Sun said that Resolution 1701 was a major step in the direction of political settlement to the Lebanon crisis and China welcomed and supported it.
