This may come as a shock to Coca Cola, but according to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Coca Cola is an African beverage.Speaking during celebrations for the 7th anniversary of the African Union, Gaddafi claimed that the US-drink was African as "its essences come from our plants and so multinationals must pay compensation to us."
