Education: Japan donates 12,000 PCs to the Philippines

Japan has donated about 12,000 new personal computers worth $11.8 million, to the Philippines' Department of Education. The donation is part of the PCs for Public School project, and is one of the biggest donations by a foreign country to the program.

Education Secretary Jesli Lapuz said the computers would be dispersed to some 1,200 public high schools across the country. Each school will be receiving 10 computers each, he said.
