VietNamNet Bridge reports that The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has launched a national campaign in the coastal Sam Son town, central Thanh Hoa province, to raise public awareness about environmental protection.The 2006 "Make the World Cleaner" campaign, themed "Anti-Desertification", was held in coordination with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and the Thanh Hoa provincial People's Committee.
On the first day of the campaign, thousands of young people and students took part in cleaning activities and urged others to join in the campaign.
