The Syrian Insurance Supervision Committee has given its preliminary approval to three new insurance firms that will introduce for the first time in Syria, Islamic insurance services, also known as Takaful insurance.The three firms are: The Syrian Qatari Insurance Company, Nour Insurance Company and Al Aqila Insurance Company.
Takaful is an Arabic word meaning "guaranteeing each other" or joint guarantee.
