Oil and Gas: Russia to send an estimated ten million tons of petroleum to China by rail

Igor E. Levitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, has said that Russia will send an estimated ten million tons of petroleum to China by rail this year.

Levitin told Xinhua that Russia transported 5.8 million tons of petroleum to China by rail in the first seven months of this year. The total amount for last year was 7.6 million tons.

According to Levitin, the ministry has received applications for 10 million tons of oil to be transported to China by rail. Levitin added that the railway could support the transportation of over 15 million tons.
