Agriculture: More debt-ridden Indian farmers commit suicide

The Times of India, reports that seven debt-ridden farmers have committed suicide since Sunday in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

With these deaths, the number of suicides in the region, since the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in June, has risen to 330, according to Vidharbha Janandolan Samiti, working for the cause of farmers.

Since June 2005, around 935 debt-ridden farmers have committed suicide.
