Bilateral Relations: Thailand and Vietnam boost cooperation

Vietnam and Thailand have agreed to keep on reinforcing and fostering bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including economy, trade and security.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with his visiting Thai counterpart Surayud Chulanont on Thursday, and the two sides agreed to encourage enterprises of the two countries to promote investment and trade so that their two-way trade will reach $5 billion in the next few years.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional cooperation frameworks.

Since Vietnam and Thailand established diplomatic ties in 1976. almost 30 bilateral cooperation agreements have been signed.
