Elections: Not dead - just running for parliament

The Gulf Daily News reports that worshippers in Bahrain were "stunned" when they discovered a man they had been praying for because they thought he was dead, turned out to be running in the parliamentary elections.

The independent candidate said he didn't know putting his own picture in religious booklets that normally contain images of the deceased, violated election rules.

Candidates are banned from placing advertisement in government ministries, other government establishments and mosques.
