According to a report in the Qatari newspaper, Al-Watan, Syria is concerned over Israeli military exercises in the Golan Heights. In response to the exercises defense minister, Hassan Turkmani, has raised the alert status in the area.Citing official Syrian sources the article says the manoeuvres have raised tensions and Syria was closely monitoring the Israel Defense Forces activity in the area.
