Security: Belgian drone kills woman in Kinshasa

A Belgian unmanned surveillance drone being used by an EU force crashed on Tuesday in a street in the Congolese capital, killing one woman, injuring two other people and stoking anti-European sentiment in the city.
According to EUFOR the drone crashed just after taking off from a city air strip.

EUFOR's Lieutenant-Colonel Thierry Fusalba said, "A drone crashed just before 2 this afternoon (1300 GMT) ... Sadly, one lady has been killed and two other people were injured. We don't know if it was a technical fault or if it was shot down like the last one."

Reuters reports that, "EUFOR said in a statement it would open an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. After originally saying the drone crashed while coming in to land, Fusalba later clarified that it came down near a stadium while taking off."

The crash incited several hundred people to chant anti-European slogans and hurl abuse at a convoy of UN armoured personnel carriers.
