Security: Russian military headquarters blocked in Georgia

At the time of posting, the exits from the headquarters of the Russian Military Force in the Transcaucasus remain blocked by Georgian patrols and military police. a headquarters official told Interfax on Sunday.

However, cordons erected earlier along the perimeter of the building, were removed on Saturday. The official said.

"The picket has caused disruptions in the headquarters' normal work, but no incidents involving Russian servicemen have been reported over the past 24 hours".

Georgian law enforcement officials allege that, Russian Col. Konstantin Pichugin, on a wanted list on suspicion of spying, is still hiding in the building.
