Sugar Industry: Cuba expects bumper sugarcane harvest

Cuba's Sugar Minister Ulises Rosales Del Toro, stated the country will have much more cane to produce sugar in the next harvest.

He said this reflects the potential of the Cuban sugar industry workers to fulfil the commitments with President Fidel Castro regarding this mission.

Prensa Latina reports that "the minister announced the planting program is fulfilled in Guantanamo and the imminent fulfilment of the total sugarcane planting goal of 296,526 acres, with only the seed banks pending for December planting and some other areas of some producers".
