Aerospace: Russian military satellite has "ceased to exist"

A Russian military satellite was de-orbited and burnt up in the Earth's atmosphere on Monday after its mission was completed, a Space Forces spokesman said.

"The mission of the Cosmos-2423 satellite was accomplished. The satellite was de-orbited. It ceased to exist and was burnt up in the atmosphere," the spokesman, Alexei Kuznetsov, was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying.

Kuznetsov denied media reports that the satellite had malfunctioned.

Ceased to exist? Perhaps it's just pining for the fjords
