Automotive: Ban on cars with right-hand steering wheels spark protests in Kazakhstan

A government plan to ban cars with right-hand steering wheels led dozens of protesters in Kazakhstan to wave banners and shout, "Freedom of choice!" Protesters also scuffled with police

Although most Kazakhs drive cars with left-hand steering wheels, protesters gathered with banners reading "Green right to the right steering wheel!"

The problem appears to be that many Kazakhs own second-hand cars imported from Japan, while the government thinks they cause too many road accidents.
