Bilateral Relations: India and Iran discuss nuclear program, pipeline, Iraq and Afghanistan

IRINS reports that India and Iran have discussed Teheran's controversial nuclear programme and the status of a proposed trilateral gas pipeline through Pakistan.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also agreed to expand economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, bound by centuries-old civilisational ties, and discuss the possibilities of closer cooperation in the field of energy, officials said.

The two leaders also discussed the political situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
