Construction: Malaysia offers to build Pakistan roads

Malaysian Works Minister S. Samy Vellu , has announced that Pakistan has agreed to offer Malaysian companies ring road construction contracts in Karachi and Rawalpindi worth $55 million. The projects include the construction of elevated exchanges in both cities.

The Daily Times reports that Malaysia had submitted a conceptual report on the road construction project, but the Pakistan government sought a $55 million feasibility study. The Minister said, "We have informed them that we can prepare the study on the condition that we are given the first right of refusal."

Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, has agreed to grant the privilege to Malaysia.
