Health: Malaysia develops synthetic bone product

The Malaysian Nuclear Agency has developed a synthetic bone product known as porous graft bone substitute which can spur real bone growth according to officials.

Director Daud Mohamad, told Bernama news agency "For the initial stage, we will use Bonipor for the dental field to test its effectiveness in stimulating the growth of real bones before we expand its applications".

The synthetic bone made of basic substances like hydroxyapatite and sulphate could stimulate new growth in real bones within a month, Daud told reporters.
