Russia's oil giant Gazprom, will hike its prices for Europe by 14 per cent to 293 US dollars per 1,000 cubic metres in 2007, according to the daily Vedomosti.
The price would provide the Russian government-controlled monopoly with $46 billion income from Europe.
An unnamed company official confirmed the figures for Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa. adding the company would not formally comment on the price increase before a November 29 board of directors meeting. Gazprom supplies one-quarter of Europe's natural gas.
