Women's Issues: Australian schoolgirls to receive cervical cancer vaccine at school

The Australian government has reached a deal with the manufacturers of the cervical cancer vaccine gardasil, that will enable vaccinations for cervical cancer to start in Australian schools next year.

Prime Minister John Howard, announced the deal on the price of the breakthrough vaccine means the vaccine could ultimately be administered free to up to 2.1 million girls and women.
Girls aged 12 to 13 years will receive the vaccine at school, girls aged 13 to 18 will be able to have a "catch up" vaccine at school, and women aged 18 to 26 will be able to get the vaccine from their GP.

It took a while, but it's the end result that matters.
