Free Trade: Australia to begin FTA talks with Gulf Cooperation Council

Australia's Trade Minister Warren Truss, has said that Australia will begin talks aimed at reaching a free trade agreement (FTA) with a number of Persian Gulf states as soon as possible.

The negotiations will be with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
