The Chairman of the Syrian-Turkish Business Council Bahaa Hassan, has said the free trade agreement (FTA) between Turkey and Syria which was signed in December and came into effect on Monday, will boost economic and commercial relations between the two countries.Hassan, who is also a member of the Syrian parliament, told KUNA news agency this was the first FTA Syria signed with a non-Arab country and would bring annual Syrian-Turkish trade exchange to over $ billion. Trade exchange currently stood at $850 million.
