Tonight's photo: The Spiegeltent in Sydney's Hyde Park. Part of the Festival of Sydney celebrations. Cropped from the original which was taken yesterday morning
I am fascinated by the illustrations on this sideshow booth, which for some reason, I find strangely eerie. The full size version (2816x2112) gives a much better idea of the detail and "feel" of the booth, but we will have to settle for the smaller version.
Is it just me, but is there something very "Cabaret" about this whole scene - helped by the scantily clad female attendant towards the left of the photo?
There is also the contrast in the scene; the burlesque graphics on the one hand and the sweet, smiling children on the other.
I don't know if this is a good photo or not, and frankly I don't really care! - but I am captivated by this whole scene and my imagination is running over time along the lines of Steven Spielberg meets Joel Gray.
Wherever you may be - be safe!
