Illegal recruitment companies based in the Philippines have adopted the tactic of advertising on legitimate job-search companies to lure unsuspecting victims seeking jobs abroad.A warning has been sent out by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) in Manila to be wary of using the Internet to look for jobs to avoid being duped by illegal recruitment companies.
In its official website, POEA has recently intensified the “Stop Illegal Recruitment Campaign” against fraudsters;
According to the POEA's official report, the scammers build websites, advertise on legitimate online job-search companies and take part in discussion boards or forums that are frequented by job seekers.
