International Development: Vietnam earmarks for funds for typhoon victims

Vietnam is to earmark $16.4 million to help typhoon-ravaged provinces overcome the aftermath of Typhoon Xangsane. The relief will be allocated to provinces in central and southern regions which were devastated in early October and December this year.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, urged local authorities to manage and effectively use the relief to help victims of the typhoons resume their normal lives.

Which would make a nice change to officials using funds to improve their own lives.
