Oil and Gas: Nigerian militants threaten more attacks

The Movement for Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), a militant group operating in oil rich southern Nigeria, has threatened to resume attacks on oil facilities this month and seize more captives.

In an e-mail to media the group stated, "We are resuming with our attacks this month and may even take more hostages".

As for the fate of current hostages, MEND said, "we are not interested in talking about these people (hostages). If it takes us one year to get what we want, we will keep them and others."
