Women's Issues: Iran arrests three female activists

Radio Free Europe reports that a report says that Iranian officials arrested three women's rights activists as they were about to leave the country to take part in an educational workshop in India.

Mansureh Shojai, Talat Taghinia, and Farnaz Seifi were arrested at a Tehran airport on January 27, said Bamdad Davudi, Shojais son. He said Nobel peace laureate and lawyer Shirin Ebadi will be representing the detainees.

The three women were involved in a recent campaign dubbed "One Million Signatures," which aims to change Iran's "discriminatory laws" for women.
At least in the west female activists are respected - just ask Jane Fonda and Cindy Sheehan.
